How’s Your Seat?

…. not that seat! We are talking about the VALVE SEAT on your centrifugal air compressor.

So many times in the hustle of overhauls, this area is overlooked. A good seal is important to ensure the compressor can provide the needed flow and pressure to your compressed air system.  This is especially true when the demand for the compressed air is critical.

For Example:

With a centrifugal compressor, a worn bypass valve seat allows compressed air to be vented to the atmosphere, thus reducing the air supplied to the system.

What  does that mean?

LOST MONEY!! In severe cases, you could see a pay back for valve seat replacement in a matter of months.
